The big concern remains focused along the beaches and nearshore waters, where a Small Craft Advisory, High Surf Advisory, and a high risk of rip currents are still in place. It’s best to stay out of the Atlantic!
Mid-week:
Thanks to a weak disturbance to the south, moisture levels will stay high through Wednesday, leading to a better chance for rain.
Coastal areas south of Cape Canaveral will see a 60-70 percent chance of rain, while the rest of the region has a 30-50 percent chance. A few heavier bands of showers are possible along the immediate coastline accumulating up to 1-2 inches over the next few days.
Highs remain in the upper 70s to low 80s.
Thursday through the weekend:
A weakening cold front will likely pass through on Thursday, bringing some drier air in its wake. We’ll still have a 20-30 percent chance of showers on Thursday, followed by a drier trend into Friday.
A stronger and drier cold front is expected to move through on Friday, leading to cooler air moving in for the weekend. Temperatures will drop back into the low 70s Friday and into the 60s by the weekend.
Nights will be cooler, with lows in the 40s over the interior and I-4 areas with wind chills dipping into the mid to upper 30s. While a freeze isn’t likely, it’s still a possibility for areas well to the northwest of I-4.
Leading up to Christmas:
Starting up Christmas Eve, temperatures will begin to moderate back to near normal. Long-range models agree on a high likelihood for a seasonal Christmas holiday with highs remaining in the mid to low 70s under partly cloudy skies.
