ORLANDO, Fla. – It's that time of year, and the wet season has arrived in Central Florida.

"Once again, we will be pinpointing storms for the afternoon on Friday and Saturday," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.
Rain chances will be 60 percent both days.
"The chance of rain is based on the tropical moisture still in place across Central Florida, along with a stalled boundary," Bridges said. "That boundary will act as a focal point for scattered showers and storms in the afternoon for both Friday and Saturday. Most of the rain comes in the afternoon after 2 o'clock."
There is a risk for some strong storms with strong wind gusts, lightning and heavy rain.
"Most of the storms we see for both Friday and Saturday will be typical of our summer pattern as the east and west coast sea breezes fire up late in the day," Bridges said.
Heavy rains flooded streets Thursday afternoon in Palm Bay, causing traffic issues.
Drier air works in by Sunday.
"That means rain chances will be a bit lower," said Bridges, who added that the coverage will be about 20 percent. "If you're going to pick a weekend day to get outdoors and maybe go to the beach or get on a boat, Sunday is your day."
Rain chances increase to the typical pattern next week, and there will be 30 to 40 percent coverage of the region.
Afternoon high temperatures will be right on target Friday and close to it on Saturday and Sunday. The average afternoon high in Orlando is 90 degrees.
"Expect a high of 90 on Friday, 89 on Saturday, 92 on Sunday, and we'll be in the low 90s all next week," Bridges said. "In case you're wondering, nothing is brewing in the tropics for the next five days."
