Electric Daisy Carnival returns to Orlando this weekend

Uber offering free ride up to $20

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida commuters on SR 408 this week may have noticed a fairy tail world coming to life near Camping World Stadium.

The Electric Daisy Carnival returns to Orlando for the seventh time beginning Friday. The two-day concert and dance trance movement is taking over Tinker Field from West Anderson Street to West Church Street and from Rio Grande Avenue to South Tampa Avenue.

Festival attendees can ride a zip line, take a spin on a Ferris wheel or check out live performances at four different themed stages.

There is also an EDC Orlando app for  Apple and Android devices that lists set times and an interactive map of the festival that uses Bluetooth beacon technology, according to a news release by Insomniac Events, the company behind the festival.

This year, the ride-sharing app Uber is offering a free ride up to $20 with the promo code EDCOrlando17. Uber riders should head to Lot 7 for entrance and exit.

When Electric Daisy rolled through Orlando last year, event planners reported an attendance of 35,895 for the two-day event.

Orlando police said three people were arrested and they they received 20 reported noise complaints, and Orlando paramedics treated 297 attendees.
