ORLANDO, Fla. – Winter is coming and what better way to get into the holiday spirit than a December night filled with the sounds of electric classical instruments?
The strings supergroup, Violectric, announced their 10th annual holiday show is set to rock the Orlando area come Saturday, Dec. 10. The 90-minute, free concert will take place at the Walt Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park.

Not only will the group feature seasonal classics, like “O Christmas Tree,” “The First Noel” and “Hanukkah, O Hanukkah,” but they’ll also mix up the set list with classic rock tunes and modern hits like “Born to Run” by Bruce Springsteen, “Heroes” by David Bowie and “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” by Eurythmics.
Michelle Jones, founder of the band that’s been around since 2008 and performed on stages as the opening act for the likes of Sia, Twenty One Pilots, The Killers, John Legend and more, said the Orlando holiday show is a homecoming for the group.

“It’s the one time each year when we can perform our favorite show in our hometown with our friends, families and their pets in attendance. We love the meet-and-greet after the show and look forward to seeing everyone again this year!” Jones said in a statement.
And while Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said there is always a variety of holiday highlights and happenings throughout the area, many return to this widely adored show.
“The Violectric Holiday Show is a fan favorite that adds to those offerings and furthers the city’s efforts to increase cultural events downtown, not only during the holidays, but throughout the year,” he said in a news release. “Now in its tenth consecutive year, this family-friendly and free show is a great way to ring in the holidays and get a one-of-a-kind downtown experience.”
Violectric also teamed up with the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, so pet owners are encouraged to bring their fury friends and a cash donation for the animal welfare agency.
