Inside the new Adventure Kids’ Clubhouse, presented by LIFEWTR, young guests can create crafts and decorate a treasured item to take home under the expert tutelage of a pirate from the captain’s crew or a princess from the royal court. Adventure Kids’ Clubhouse will be presented each Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., then Saturdays and select dates from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
New summer light show
A kaleidoscope of color sparkles in the new “Illuminate the Night” light show, presented high above the atrium on LED light curtains suspended from the ceiling. The nightly spectacle can be seen from the atrium floor, and guests with select atrium-view rooms can enjoy the show from their balcony.
Pirate’s treasure escape room
In the Pirate’s Treasure Escape Room, Captain Hornswoggle’s bride, Emerald, is recruiting guests to pillage the captain’s quarters and claim his most valuable gem. But the jewel is well-hidden, and guests must work together to complete a series of quests and riddles. Guests are challenged to solve the puzzles, find the treasure and escape before Hornswoggle returns in 30 minutes. The Pirate’s Treasure Escape Room is presented Fridays, Saturdays and select days during the event at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Hide & Sea-k
Pirates love searching for hidden treasure, and guests can join in during the “Pirate Treasure Hide and Sea-k Scavenger Hunt.” Searching high and low in Gaylord Palms’ 4.5-acre garden atrium, young guests and families are challenged to find clues and solve riddles, at their own pace, using a secret pirate map. The scavenger hunt is offered daily.
Florida’s wondrous summertime wildlife
Guests can enjoy up-close encounters with Florida wildlife during the resort’s weekly Animal Encounters. This summer, animal experts will showcase some of the state’s indigenous wildlife and show guests how they contribute to the state’s ecosystem during the hottest months of the year. Animal Encounters are scheduled each Saturday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the resort’s atrium.
Captain’s Quarters Trail
A seafaring stroll through the atrium’s Captain’s Quarters Trail provides guests a bounty of photo opportunities. Adorned with flotsam, shiny loot, pirates’ good luck charms and mysterious maps, the indoor trail provides treasured spots for guests to take pictures to share with friends and family.
More Adventure Kids summer fun
Families are invited to join the Adventure Kids as Sophie, Seth the Sea Turtle and Ava the Alligator showcase the wonders of summer in “Adventure Kids: Join The Club.” In this live show, Sophie and her friends explore conservation, wildlife, nature and more through stories and songs.
Mobile safari AR game
Guests can embark on a free, virtual summer safari with the Wildlife Rescue game. After finding specially marked spots in the atrium, guests use their mobile device and a free augmented reality (AR) app to discover exotic animals from around the world. Once a spot is found and scanned with the app, virtual animals appear on-screen, and guests can step in the scene for a photo that can be shared with friends.
Summer movie series
The giant outdoor video wall in the resort’s 3-acre Cypress Springs Water Park will be home to Hollywood family favorites for the “Summer Dive-In Movie Series,” presented by LIFEWTR, on select nights.
