Disney Skyliner to close temporarily. Here is what you need to know

Service to be interrupted through Jan. 27 on select routes

BAY LAKE, Fla. – Walt Disney World is preparing to close its Disney Skyliner system for a short time, the resort announced on its website.

Beginning Jan. 16, the gondola-style transportation will close to guests for routine maintenance.

The Disney Skyliner provides transportation from Disney’s Hollywood Studios to nearby resort hotels including Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. The system also includes an extension that reaches Disney’s Riviera Resort and EPCOT’s International Gateway.

According to Disney’s website, the Disney Skyliner closure will first run through Jan. 21.

Following that time, Disney said service to and from Disney’s Riviera Resort and International Gateway at EPCOT will remain closed through Jan. 27.

During this time, complimentary bus service will be available for guests, Disney said.
