Pitbull, DJ Khaled, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson set to attend Daytona 500. Here’s everything to know

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – NASCAR fanatics are counting down the hours until the Daytona 500 this Sunday.

The Daytona 500, also known as “The Great American Race,” is a cornerstone of the NASCAR cup series and marks the beginning of the NASCAR season, according to the auto racing company.

The race kicks off at 2:30 p.m. You can click here for a full schedule of event times for the entire weekend and leading up to the Daytona 500.

Adding to the excitement, this year’s Daytona 500 will feature a pre-race concert by Pitbull, with a celebrity Q&A with none other Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Grammy award winning DJ, artist and music producer DJ Khaled is set to wave the green flag before the race.

Event policies and safety measures

  • All items brought through any venue admission gate will be subject to inspection. The Hard Rock BET fanzone abides by the same policies.
  • Outside food, beverages and coolers are prohibited in any of the hospitality areas.
  • Smoking areas are designated inside the venue, with smoking strictly prohibited in seating areas.

Guest convenience:

  • Attendees are allowed to bring in their own food and beverages to every event.
  • Fans can leave and re-enter by presenting their valid ticket or credential.
  • Daytona International Speedway aims to streamline transactions for fans by adopting a cashless system. All concessions and the DIS ticket office will only accept major credit cards American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.

Ensuring smooth logistics for fans attending Speedweeks, the Speedway provides designated parking hours:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 14: 4:00 p.m. - Lots 1 and 4 open
  • Thursday, Feb. 15: 1:30 p.m. - Lots 1, 3, 4 and Volusia Mall open
  • Friday, Feb. 16: 9:00 a.m. - Lots 1, 4 and Volusia Mall open; 1:30 p.m. - Lot 3 opens
  • Saturday, Feb. 17: 6:00 a.m. - Lots 1, 3, 4 and Volusia Mall open; 7:00 a.m. - Lot 7 opens
  • Sunday, Feb. 18: 6:00 a.m. - Lots 1, 3, 4 and Volusia Mall open; 7:00 a.m. - Lot 7 opens
