“Car prices have gone up significantly over the past few years, and gas remains expensive going into the summer travel season. Living in one of the best cities to drive in can make owning and maintaining a car much cheaper. However, costs aren’t the only factors that matter; the best cities for drivers also minimize commute times and traffic congestion, have accident rates well below the national average and keep their roads in good condition.”

Nationally, the best city was Raleigh, North Carolina (No. 1), followed closely by Boise, Idaho (No. 2) and Corpus Christi, Texas (No. 3).
However, Florida was well represented within the top 10 on this list.
Taking the top spot for the Sunshine State was Jacksonville at No. 5, which rated highly for cost of ownership and traffic.
In Central Florida, Orlando took the No. 6 spot, placing second overall in terms of traffic and access to vehicles.
Rounding out the top trio for Florida ws Tampa at No. 9.
Further down on the list, Miami came in with at a middling No. 37, though it was among the worst-rated when it came to the number of hours spent in traffic congestion annually per driver. On the other hand, Miami was actually top-rated when it came to drivers having access to vehicles.
