  • Create a safe space for your animal: Turning on music in the background while moving your animal into a room with no windows can help to muffle the noise and minimize stress.
  • Consider an anxiety vest or a small T-shirt to create the sense of hugging.
  • Animals that do not do well with loud thunderstorms are more likely to be scared of fireworks.
    • If your pet has already expressed signs of fear towards loud noises, consider speaking to your vet about possible medication with specific amounts to help.
  • Walk them before the firework festivities begin. This will help to avoid being outside during darker hours.
  • ID your pet: Animals can get startled and the noise and may run away. Ensuring your animal has the proper ID can make getting them home that much easier.
  • Keep all fireworks away from animals. If your animal does come into contact with fireworks contact your nearest emergency veterinarian.

Your pets can enjoy the holiday activates with you by following these steps.
