A docuseries, an action-adventure, and a space mystery are just a few of the options occupying Netflix’s latest list of the most-watched shows.
In the first category, director Katherine Kubler shares a very personal story in “The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping,” a three-part limited series that began streaming on March 6. Kubler reexamines her time at the Academy at Ivy Ridge, a school meant to rehabilitate “troubled teens” that closed in 2009.

The docuseries depicts the school’s environment as one defined by abuse and punishment, with former students describing its tactics as “manipulation” and “brainwashing.” In “The Program,” Kubler goes to the abandoned school and looks through its files, piecing together the stories of the students who endured traumatic moments there.
On the scripted side of television, Mexican action series “Bandidos” dropped on Netflix on March 13. Throughout its seven episodes, “Bandidos” depicts a motley crew of bounty hunters teaming up in a race to find treasure.
A con man named Miguel (played by Alfonso Dosal) finds a treasure map, which leads him to assemble a team—including a forger, a hacker, and a scammer—to chase it down. With other parties on the hunt for the treasure, Miguel and his team travel through the Mexican Caribbean with little planning, resulting in a whole lot of hijinx.
German mystery series “The Signal” also made a splash on Netflix. The mystery of the show, which was released on March 7, centers around Paula, an astronaut who mysteriously disappears in a plane crash after returning to Earth. Her disappearance proves to be more complicated than it initially seems, with her husband and daughter seeking answers.
What the two uncover throughout “The Signal’s” four episodes has major implications not just for their family, but for the world as a whole—it turns out that Paula made a massive discovery in her space mission.
