🗳️ ZIP codes that have donated the most money to Donald Trump this year

The 2024 presidential election is underway, and voters are getting ready to choose between two familiar candidates. President Joe Biden is once again set to face former president Donald J. Trump, and both teams are fighting for every available vote — and every campaign dollar.

So far this year, Trump has raised $403,415 from individual donors. The amount is a far cry from the more than $75 million he received before the 2016 general election; however, that’s mostly due to the large number of Republican primary candidates and the fact that Trump donors tend to give smaller amounts. Still, he swept Super Tuesday and knocked out Nikki Haley, who had outraised him by $72 to $1.

So, exactly where is the bulk of Trump’s support coming from?

To find out which of the country’s nearly 42,000 zip codes have donated the most money in 2024 to Donald Trump so far, Stacker analyzed Federal Election Commission records (released March 21). The forthcoming list represents the top 50 zip codes for individual Trump supporters.

This story considers only FEC-processed records from individual donors (as opposed to outside groups or committees), and zip codes had to have donated at least $1,000.

Each zip code is ranked by the share of donations given to the Trump campaign compared to all donations to presidential candidates from that zip code. In the event of a tie, the total amount donated was used.

Republican voters tend to be older, predominantly White, and less likely to have a college degree. Such is the case in one of the top donating zip codes, located in Alden, Iowa, where 15.7% of people have a bachelor’s degree or higher, according to the latest Census data. But Trump is also seeing success in wealthy neighborhoods in liberal cities, such as San Francisco, where the median income is $145,931.
