The average litter size is three to four cubs, the AP reported.
Of the 430 litters it has documented, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums said it's the first time a cheetah mom has birthed and raised her own litter of eight cubs at a zoo, the AP reported.
The zoo said Bingwa -- which means "champion" in Swahili -- has been an "exemplary" mom to the cubs, which are all doing well, the AP reported.
