UCF student appears on 'Survivor: One World'

Kat Edorsson, 22, gives sneak peek of new season

ORLANDO, Fla. – A University of Central Florida student will make her TV debut on "Survivor: One World" on Wednesday night.

Kat Edorsson, a full-time student majoring in Business and a part time sales representative at Starwood Vacation Ownership, said she started training for Survivor years ago.

"I made a mental note that I'm going to be the most fit girl that would ever come out of Dr. Phillips High School, and look at me now, I'm on Survivor and I'm playing the biggest game in the world," Edorsson said.

Her cousin and best friend said he can't wait to see her in action.

"Her personality is off the wall. She is really one of a kind," said Rob Boucher. "She knows how to have a good time, but she's also very competitive, she's very tough and she's very determined."

This season is on the South Pacific island of Samoa. Edorsson said she couldn't give too much away, but she did say food was scarce on the island--something she said she' still hasn't recovered from.

"My mom was sitting next to me at the dinner table and I would eat all my food really fast and then try to eat hers," Edorsson said.

She said she's glad to be back home, but if the opportunity presents itself again, she said she'd jump at it.

"I love reality TV, so I would love to do Amazing Race or Dancing with the Stars," Edorsson said.

Survivor airs on Local 6 at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
