WINTER PARK, Fla. – Winter Park is getting a new burger joint; one that will make New York transplants happy.
The New York-based Shake Shack will be opening in mid-2014 and will be located at the intersection of North Orlando Avenue and West Morse Boulevard near Lake Killarney.

Shake Shack opened in New York's Madison Square Park in 2004 and serves burgers, fries, hot dogs, frozen custard, beer and wine.
The eatery was originally a cart before opening as a permanent kiosk in the cart.
It is not the first location in Florida, but is the first in Central Florida. The three Florida locations are in Boca Raton, Coral Gables and South Beach.
