Beyonce has reportedly apologized after including audio from the space shuttle Challenger disaster in her new song "XO."
According to Business Insider, the audio clip of a now-retired NASA public affairs officer Steve Nesbitt commentating as the disaster was seen on live television, was in the song for six seconds.
NASA astronauts were angered by the sampling added to the song.
Beyonce issued an apology, saying her "heart goes out to families of those lost int he Challenger disaster... The songwriters included the audio in tribute to the unselfish work of the Challenger crew with hope that they will never be forgotten."
