The neighbor told deputies that 32-year-old Timothy Barre asked him several times to turn his music down. He said during the final confrontation Barre was holding a hand grenade and threatened to throw it into his apartment.
Deputies surrounded Barre's apartment and apprehended him. They said he was intoxicated and unable to tell them if the grenade was real or fake.
Several units in the condominium complex were evacuated as the Orange County bomb squad recovered the grenade. An investigation determined the grenade was hollowed out and they could not determine if the fuse was still active.
Barre is charged with aggravated assault with a grenade and making a bomb threat.
