WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – A 19-year-old man was stabbed to death and two people were arrested Saturday after a fight that led to the incident, Winter Garden police said.
The Winter Garden Police Department said it received a call at 2:55 a.m. Saturday about a fight at the Winter Garden Village Apartments at 521 S. Park Ave. The caller told police the fight happened near the mailbox area of the complex.
Police arrived shortly after and discovered Walter Martinez was bleeding severely after being stabbed multiple times.
Another call was received by police at 3 a.m. The caller told police her husband had been beat up, and was bleeding from the head and face.
Authorities arrived at the complex and it was determined the woman's husband, 22-year-old Jose Uriel Marquez Vizuet, was the stabbing suspect in the incident, according to police. He was taken to Health Central for treatment for injuries to his head and face.
Martinez was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment, where he was pronounced dead at 5:12 a.m., police said.
Vizuet was charged with first-degree murder for Martinez's death, police said. Gerald Samir Miranda Garmendia, 18, was charged with principle to first-degree murder for providing the weapon used to stab the victim.
Police said Vizuet and Garmendia admitted to their involvement in the incident during interviews. They were taken to Orange County Jail without further incident.
