A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Wednesday morning to highlight the stadium's brand new lower bowl, a new, large monitor and two new concourses that connect the stadium.

The stadium will seat 75,000 fans.

Everything but the upper bowl was torn down during construction and new facades on the east and west sides house eight elevators, eight escalators and stairs.

When fans arrive, the city says, they will find a stadium that is game-day ready.  Athletes and coaches also have better facilities with new locker rooms.

The first game at the newly renovated stadium will be this Saturday for the Florida Classic, which features Florida A&M and Bethune Cookman.

The bright green turf was laid after nine months of construction, revamping 90 percent of the stadium.

Meanwhile, Lorna Doone Park, adjacent to the stadium, was cleaned up by volunteers led by HNTB Corporation, which designed the stadium renovations.
