Justin Warmoth joined Local 6 News in February 2013 as our Brevard County reporter.
Born and raised in Orlando, he grew up learning about the ins-and-outs of local television news from his father, who has been an anchor in the market for nearly 30 years.
"I'm incredibly humbled and blessed by this opportunity that WKMG has given me," Justin said. "I look forward to waking up early on the weekends to bring Central Florida their morning news."
"Simply put, Justin connects with the community. He knows this community and there is no better training than being local. He digs for stories and has proven himself as a strong journalist with solid news instincts. Now viewers will also see his character and engaging personality on the anchor desk," News Director Steve Hyvonen commented.
Justin enjoys covering space, but one of the most important stories he can remember was a manatee rescue in Satellite Beach. Twenty manatees were rescued from a storm drain in a local neighborhood. The rescue took several hours overnight and into the early morning. Justin brought the community continuous live coverage from 7 p.m. until almost midnight. The story went national. He also recalls covering Orion and how it affected our community.
Justin attended Embry Riddle University where he pursued his passion for journalism, even interning at stations here in Central Florida.
