Mystery of Dennis the Menace statue solved

Statue now in California belongs to Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – The mystery surrounding a stolen Dennis the Menace statue is no more.

The statue, recently found in Central Florida, was thought to have been stolen from a California playground.  It was shipped across the country back to the city of Monterey last month.

However, Monterey says the statue isn't theirs.  It turns out the statue actually belongs to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando.

A hospital spokesman told News 6 that the statue was removed during a renovation a few years ago and then disappeared.

He says hospital representatives have spoken with city officials in Monterey and are letting them keep the statue.
