ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – Police are searching for two people after an armed robbery and pursuit, Altamonte Springs police said.
Authorities received a call about an armed robbery to a person behind a Steak 'n Shake near Festival Drive.
Four people in a tan Lexus pulled up next to a man and called him over. Police said they pulled him in and took his wallet, shoes and phone.
They let the man go and then took off. Police said they crashed into someone at 436 trying to get onto I-4. They were spotted by a deputy with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office on the interstate in the Longwood area.
While on I-4 during a pursuit, police said someone threw a gun out of the car and it hit another car, went through the window and landed in the back seat.
Police said the Lexus was stolen, along with the license tag, which was not assigned to the vehicle the thieves were in. Altamonte Springs police reached out to Orlando police to determine if the Lexus was the same vehicle involved in another incident.
The thieves got off on Lake Mary Boulevard near Forest Boulevard, where they ditched the car, police said.
One passenger, Rafael Ovidio, 21, was caught while three people remained at large. Police said a perimeter was set up in the area.
On Wednesday police arrested Tyron Miller, for violation of probation. He was interviewed and admitted he was in the vehicle.
