A man who was producer and manager of the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC has died, Billboard is reporting.
Pearlman was convicted in 2009 of masterminding a half-billion-dollar Ponzi scheme, Billboard said.
"Word is that #LouPearlman has passed away," former NSYNC member Lance Bass said on Twitter. "He might not have been a stand up businessman, but I wouldn't be doing what I love today (without) his influence. RIP Lou."
"Mixed emotions right now, but RIP Lou Pearlman," former NSYNC member Chris Kirkpatrick said on Twitter.
Pearlman had been serving a 25-year sentence in prison, according to Billboard.
Pearlman was 62.
