ST. CLOUD, Fla. – A man was arrested Tuesday in St. Cloud on suspicion of impersonating a law enforcement officer and stalking.
[LISTEN: 911 call]
Police officers went to the area of Crabby Bills Restaurant at 1104 Lakeshore Blvd. just after 11 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a 911 call about a suspicious person identifying himself as a police officer, authorities said.
Two female victims told police that a man driving a dark blue Hyundai Santa Fe SUV was following them, trying to get them to get in his vehicle and leave with him, St. Cloud police said.
The man, who was later identified by police as Ramy Nashaat-Yousef Hanna, told the women he was a police officer and demanded their driver's licenses, police said. The victims requested identification from Hanna, but he refused, saying he was an undercover officer, according to police.
Officers located Hanna leaving the area and said they found four large rolls of plastic painter’s drop cloth, a pair of shoe guards and a clear plastic poncho in the back seat of his vehicle.
