TUI Fly flight returns to Sanford airport after crew becomes sick

4 people taken to hospital

SANFORD, Fla. – A flight from Orlando Sanford International en route to England Sunday night had to return after crew and passengers reported not feeling well, airport officials said.

Flight attendants aboard German Budget airline TUI Fly 375 complained of nausea and dizziness.

After returning to Orlando Sanford International Airport, 27 of the 287 passengers and crew were treated on scene. Four people were taken to a hospital.

The Seminole County Fire Department’s special hazards and operations team checked the air quality of the plane, which was in normal range, airport officials said.

The cause of the illnesses are unknown.

About 150 passengers were taken to local hotels for the night and are scheduled to depart on another flight at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
