The Kansas City Star, citing court documents, reported that the girl’s parents called police Friday after returning to their home to find Newlun had fondled their baby.

The documents stated that the parents left their child with Newlun, a reported family friend, so they could go to the store.

After the mother and father left, Newlun allegedly entered the girl’s room and fondled her while he touched himself, according to the court documents.

But within moments, the parents returned home to retrieve something they forgot. When they got inside, according to documents, the baby’s mother allegedly found Newlun taking a photo of the girl while kneeling between her legs and touching himself.

KTLA reported that when the mother discovered Newlun, she ran to get her husband, who went into the room and tackled Newlun as he screamed. KTLA reported the father hit Newlun with a dresser drawer before punching him multiple times, according to the court documents.

KMBC reported that the baby’s father held Newlun down until police could arrive and was stopped from further pummeling him by a neighbor.

Newlun’s bond is set at $250,000. He remains behind bars.
