Officials warn drivers about brush fire burning near I-4 in Kissimmee

Smoke may affect visibility on interstate, officials say

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Drivers in the area of Interstate 4 near State Road 417 and U.S. 192 in the Kissimmee area were advised to use "extreme caution" due to smoke from a 80-acre brush fire, officials said.

As of Wednesday morning, the wildfire, dubbed the Triangle Brush Fire, is 80 percent contained, according to the Florida Fire Service.

Photos and video from the FFS showed large flames scorching trees, sending smoke near the roadways. No structures are threatened, the Orlando FFS said on its Twitter page.

Officials said visibility could be an issue Wednesday for drivers heading to and from Disney World.

The Florida Forest Service said the blaze was likely sparked by a lightning strike.

Meanwhile, a blaze known as the Break 91 Fire has burned about 150 acres in Volusia County.

The fire is south of Osteen Maytown Road and is 80 percent contained.

No homes are in danger, officials said.
