ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – A 29-year-old man was shot at a home in Altamonte Springs, police said Sunday.
The victim is now recovering at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Meanwhile, officials at the Altamonte Springs Police Department are working to find a motive for the shooting, which took place about 9:40 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of Ballard Street.
The man was shot in his neck and chest area.
"(I heard) just a really loud, like, pop," said John Cheng, who lives next door.
Cheng told News 6 that he heard what sounded to be at least one gunshot.
"I actually saw the cops later when they came, and that’s when I realized it probably was a gunshot," he said.
Police are still in the process of speaking with witnesses.
"We’re hoping that if the victim is able to talk to us and give us more information, that we’re able to push out more information about what happened today," police spokesperson Evelyn Estevez said.
It’s not clear if the victim knew his shooter, officers said.
If you can help provide any information that might lead to an arrest, you’re asked to call Altamonte Springs police.
Editor's note: Police initially said the incident took place at 10:40 a.m., but later issued a correction saying it happened at 9:40 a.m.
