Home catches fire in Merritt Island, authorities say

MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. – A fire engulfed a single-story home on Merritt Island on Saturday, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue.

The fire happened on the 500 block of Palm Avenue and spread rapidly through the roof of the home, authorities said.
