Meanwhile, a ticket sold at a Circle K in Oldsmar — located at 5025 Tampa Road — won a second-tier prize of $1 million. It was among seven tickets in the nation to match five numbers, with the others sold in Arizona, Delaware, Iowa, Massachusetts, Missouri and Wyoming.

Though the drawing was originally scheduled for 10:59 p.m. Saturday, Powerball announced minutes later that it was being delayed due to a participating lottery needing additional time to complete pre-draw procedures. The organization said in a series of statements that the delay was enacted to protect the security and integrity of its game, ensuring each ticket is accounted for and has an equal chance to win, otherwise urging players to hold on to their tickets and pledging that security officials and independent auditors would be in the room when the drawing finally commenced.
The drawing was eventually held at 2:29 a.m. Sunday at the Florida Lottery draw studio, according to Powerball.
It’s the second time this year a Powerball jackpot has been hit after an $842.4 million top prize was won in Michigan on New Year’s Day.
Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9 while the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, according to Powerball.
