I-4 reopens in Volusia after fatal crash

Semitruck strikes guardrail, overturns, troopers say

DeLAND, Fla. – A fatal crash involving a semitruck shut down Interstate 4 in Volusia County on Monday afternoon for hours.

The crash was reported on eastbound I-4 in DeLand at mile marker 123 near State Road 44 just before 3:30 p.m.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the semitruck struck a guardrail and overturned. The driver died on scene.

No other vehicles were involved.

I-4 eastbound was shut down until 6:30 p.m.
