Man bitten by ‘toothy sea creature’ at Cocoa Beach, paramedics say

COCOA BEACH, Fla. – A man was transported to a local hospital after being bitten by what Brevard County firefighters described as a “toothy sea creature” on Cocoa Beach, reports News 6 partner Florida Today.

Paramedics responded to the beach between North First Street and North Second Street around 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Brevard County Fire Rescue could not confirm whether the animal was a shark, saying only that it was a "toothy sea creature."

The person's injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Beaches have been closed except for exercise-related activities, such as jogging and surfing, as county officials try to tamper crowd sizes to stem the spread of coronavirus.
