ORLANDO, Fla. – Law enforcement in Central Florida teamed up Tuesday to improve pedestrian safety.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Orlando Police Department and Longwood Police Department took part in Operation Best Foot Forward.
Deputies and officers were stationed at seven crosswalks across the area looking for drivers not following the rules.
Drivers who failed to stop for pedestrians could receive a warning or a ticket.
All in all, 108 citations and warnings were issued to drivers for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
