ORLANDO, Fla. – Comic book and movie fans will have to adjust some plans as MegaCon Orlando recently announced it’s pushing its event back a few months.

Initially scheduled for March 2021, event organizers announced Wednesday MegaCon will now take place in August.

“When we announced our March 2021 show dates, we were optimistic. However, your friendly neighborhood MEGACON Orlando squad also secured back-up dates, just in case. Although we’d hoped to see you sooner, our spidey sense helped us decide to go with Plan B so that we can deliver the safest, best possible fan experience,” organizers wrote on the event’s website.

Nodding to the coronavirus pandemic, the website says MegaCon Orlando will now take place Aug. 12-15 at the Orange County Convention Center.

Those who purchased tickets and add-ons will be automatically transferred to the new dates, the website states. Ticketholders are not expected to do anything else if they plan on still attending the event.

Refunds are available up to two weeks before the show. Click here to see how to request a refund.

For hotel reservations, MegaCon says ticketholders who have reserved rooms with one of their partnering hotels should contact them regarding personal plans.

“Thanks for sticking with us, you’re truly awesome and we can’t wait to see you this summer. Until then, stay tuned for exciting updates as we work hard to put together an amazing show for you,” event organizers said.
