Teen found shot at MetroWest apartments, Orlando police say

Shooting investigated at Estates at Park Avenue Apartments

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 17-year-old boy was shot late Monday and dropped off at an apartment in MetroWest, Orlando police said.

Officers were called to the Estates at Park Avenue Apartments off Robert Trent Jones Drive and found the teen, who had been shot, police said.

The teen was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Later in the morning, Orlando police said an investigation showed the shooting happened on North Pine Hills Road near Silver Star Road in the jurisdiction of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, which will take over the case.

According to sheriff’s officials, the victim said he was walking in the area when shots were fired at him from a car. Deputies, however, were not able to locate a shooting scene, officials said.
