The two spoke at CJ Cannon’s Restaurant in Vero Beach.

The governor has been going around the state, doing public awarding of funds for improvements ranging from hurricane relief to stormwater systems to climate resilience.

Millions of dollars were awarded to Fellsmere, Pompano Beach, Sunrise and Monroe County. The money came from the Rural Infrastructure Fund and from the Community Development Block Grant.

“As you’ve seen, the population is growing, and we need to keep up with it in a lot of different ways,” DeSantis said.
