Woman drowns in ocean off Ormond Beach

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – A woman drowned in the ocean Monday off Volusia County, officials said.
Lifeguards said the woman was spotted in the water in an unguarded stretch in Ormond Beach.

Bystanders pulled the woman to shore and performed CPR, but the woman was pronounced dead at a hospital, officials said.
Witnesses said they never saw the woman struggling in the water and didn’t find her until she was facedown.
No other details have been released.
