Storm damage displaces 11 at Orlando apartment complex

8 units at Summerfield Apartments affected

ORLANDO, Fla. – Heavy rain from overnight storms damaged multiple units at an Orlando apartment complex, prompting the American Red Cross to provide emergency assistance for 14 people, 11 of whom were displaced, officials said Saturday.

At Summerfield Apartments on Kirkman Road, which an Orlando Fire Department spokesperson said were under construction at the time, city code enforcement condemned at least eight damaged units until repairs could be made.

In total, 10 adults and four children were attended to by the Red Cross, offered one-on-one recovery assistance and emotional support services.
