17-year-old boy dies after being found shot in Orlando neighborhood, police say

Police ask for tips in fatal shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 17-year-old boy died after he was found shot Friday night in an Orlando neighborhood, police said.

According to a news release, officers responded to the Lake Mann Estates area around 10:59 p.m. after a caller advised they heard gunshots and observed a vehicle parked on Domino Drive.

Once there, police located the boy lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound, the release states. Life-saving efforts began and the teen was taken to the hospital by the Orlando Fire Department where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

Neither the source of the gunfire nor the motive behind the shooting have been determined at the time of this report, according to the Orlando Police Department.
