Flagler County cities to cancel trash pickup starting Thursday due to Hurricane Ian

Trash services will not be rescheduled.

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Flagler County, as well as the cities of Flagler Beach, Palm Coast and Bunnell, will cancel garbage collection for Thursday and Friday, due to Hurricane Ian.

The county will suspend trash pickup for Sept. 29 and Sept. 30 due to expected high winds as a results of Hurricane Ian, and will not be rescheduled according to the press release.

Officials urge residents to bring their trash cans into their garages, or keep them tied down if they don’t have a garage, when the storm hits.

“The goal is for everything and anything that may become an airborne projectile to be put up and secured,” said Emergency Management Director Jonathan Lord.

Trash collection is expect to resume to its normal schedule on the next regularly scheduled weekday, the release said.
