MARION COUNTY, Fla. – One man is dead and a woman is injured after a shooting inside a car near a Super 8 motel Tuesday evening, according to the Ocala Police Department.
Police said in a release that the shooting happened inside a car in the parking lot of the Super 8 motel at 3916 W. Silver Springs Blvd.

Four people were inside the car when a fight began, and the front seat passenger — Ortiz Samuel, Jr., 23 — was shot several times, while the woman driving the car was shot once in the hand, police said.
The woman then drove off toward the hospital, the release shows. Police said the shooter got out of the vehicle at some point between the motel parking lot and the hospital.
Samuel and the woman arrived at the hospital, though Samuel eventually died from his injuries, police said.
According to detectives, the shooter is still at large. No information has been provided about the shooter’s identity or the condition of the fourth person in the vehicle.
