The department said the suspected gunman is a man in his mid-20s and was wearing a black crewneck sweatshirt, dark pants and dark shoes. He also had a black backpack with him.
The airport released the following statement about the carjacking:
A reported and rare carjacking incident took place curbside at Orlando International Airport earlier (Monday). No injuries were reported. The Orlando Police Department provides services to MCO by patrolling and enforcing traffic movement throughout airport property. MCO is working with OPD to ensure that safety remains a priority at the airport. Because this is an ongoing criminal investigation, it would not be appropriate for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority to comment further
