ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando fire and Orlando police departments investigated a suspicious package at Fashion Square Mall on Tuesday that turned out to be a cooler with ice packs in it.

According to fire department officials, the suspicious cooler was found in the mall’s parking lot.

The explosive ordnance disposal team was on hand and investigating for precautionary measures, officials said. The parking lot was closed and a robot was brought out to investigate.

After investigating, Orlando Assistant Fire Chief Spencer Bashinski said the cooler only contained two ice packs.

Bashinski said they receive calls for suspicious packages a few times a month, but they take them all seriously, using the same protocol for every case.
