LAKELAND, Fla. – Lakeland police are searching for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened over the weekend, according to the police department.
Detectives said the crash happened on Saturday around 11:06 p.m. along the 1000 block of West 10th Street. In a social media post, detectives added that a 37-year-old woman was killed in the crash, and police are urging people to be on the lookout for the driver responsible.

The post shows that the vehicle involved in the crash is believed to be a silver sedan with front-end damage and potentially a dent in the car’s right rear bumper.
The sedan is expected to have traveled east along West 10th Street, which is when it struck the woman as she walked into the street, investigators said.

After the impact, the sedan is believed to have fled the scene east along 10th Street before turning south onto Webster Avenue, according to police.
