LAKE WALES, Fla. – A portion of Scenic Highway was temporarily closed following a two-vehicle crash that left one person dead in Polk County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said the crash happened on Scenic Highway near Egg Farm Road in Lake Walkes.

Investigators said Scenic Highway was closed between Mountain Cutoff Road and Hickory Hammock Road, but reopened around 3 p.m., sheriff’s office officials said.
Deputies did not say what caused the crash. They also did not release the identity of the person who died in the wreck.
