According to a news release, the woman wound up jumping on the hood of the Community Service Officer’s car before making her way into her own vehicle and using it to ram the officer.

Ormond Beach police arrived on scene as the woman was getting out of her vehicle with a knife, the release shows. The city said the woman then rushed the officers with the knife over her head, prompting one officer to fire two rounds.

The woman was taken to the hospital, but no information was provided about her condition. No officers were hurt.

The city said there is no threat to the community, but residents were still urged to stay away from the area as law enforcement investigates. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will now investigate the shooting.
