LEE COUNTY, Fla. – It enjoys long strolls on the beach. Or, is it long death rolls?
New video this week out of Lee County shows a 10-foot long alligator on the sand in Boca Grande, spending an overcast day lying on its stomach and being nudged by waves on the South Florida shore.
We can only guess that it was just enjoying itself, like it was taking a vacation of sorts.
That vacation got cut short however, with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office reporting Tuesday that the gator was eventually relocated through the effort of deputies, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Boca Grande Fire Department.

The toothy 10-footer’s lighthearted social media sendoff wouldn’t have been complete without that quintessential reptile rhyme, “SEE YOU LATER, ALLIGATOR.”
