ORLANDO, Fla. – A Brazilian family has voluntarily dismissed a lawsuit it filed last year against Universal claiming a woman fell from a Dr. Seuss ride.
The lawsuit — filed in December 2023 by Juliana Asquino, her husband and her daughter — said that Asquino was visiting Universal’s Islands of Adventure in June 2022. While there, she allegedly got on the “Carro-Seuss-El” ride and fell while dismounting from a “beast,” the lawsuit stated.

Asquino claimed she sustained “severe personal injuries” which were permanent and would continue to impair her in the future.
Just last week however, on Feb. 15, the plaintiffs filed a notice of voluntary dismissal with prejudice.

The lawsuit also claimed that Asquino’s husband and daughter had suffered as a result of her injuries due to “the deprivation of consortium and services” of Asquino.
Because of this, the lawsuit accused Universal of negligence, saying that the theme park failed to prevent Asquino’s fall.
The family originally sought damages over $50,000. The dismissal provides that each party bear their own attorney’s fees and costs.
