SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – On Tuesday evening, workers inside the USPS Seminole Processing & Distribution Center were busy processing packages ahead of Christmas.
The 350,000-square-foot facility is processing tens of thousands of packages each day.
Loretta LaFayette said she enjoys getting in the holiday spirit as she works to help make sure everyone gets their packages.
“I just like the holidays and dressing up and watching the kids being happy and Christmas lights all over the place,” LaFayette said.

The USPS deadline for priority mail three-day shipping and priority mail express two-day shipping is Wednesday. The deadline for the priority mail two-day and priority mail express one-day shipping is Thursday.

Lisa Lake oversees the Seminole facility and said her favorite part of her role is helping others create memories.
“I appreciate the fact when my neighbors tell me they got their packages in time and I know that I service the area in the community I live in,” Lake said. “We work together as a team. We make sure we have enough employees working together to get the packages onto the conveyors so that we can sort them and then ultimately get them out to the trucks to get them out of the holding and get them home.”
