600-pound, 12-foot alligator found at this Florida mall

Deputies responded to gator found at Coconut Point Mall

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A hefty-sized alligator was removed from a mall in Florida on Thursday evening, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

In a release, the sheriff’s office announced that deputies were called to the Coconut Point Mall, where the alligator was found.

The animal stretched 12 feet long and weighed around 600 pounds, the release shows.

Deputies and agents with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission removed the alligator and brought the “massive guy to safer waterways,” deputies said.

“There is never a dull moment while on patrol here in Lee County, eh?” the release reads.
