Orlando man dies after being found unresponsive in Seminole County jail

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – An Orlando man who was an inmate at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Seminole County died on Friday after being found unresponsive in his cell, according to the sheriff’s office.

Julio Angel Pabon-Delgado, 33, had been arrested Dec. 14 to face charges of trafficking fentanyl or fentanyl analogues, using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony, driving while license suspended or revoked and possession and/or use of drug equipment, booking records show.

He was being held on no bond amount pursuant to the trafficking charge and entered a plea of not guilty on Dec. 18.

Pabon-Delgado was found to be lethargic and unresponsive in his cell at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 21, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. He was taken to a local hospital where he died at 7:06 a.m. Friday, the statement reads.

An autopsy will be performed by the Medical Examiner to determine why Pabon-Delgado died, according to the statement.
